The U.S. government tightens the grip on its own people and on immigrants, with warning signs of fracture and conflict flashing everywhere. The world chills beneath a warning frost; the battle lines remain unseen, but the divides are real and ready to heat up.

August deepened the frost of division. Trump’s summit with Putin on U.S. soil broke old taboos, yet no peace emerged. Instead, uncertainty grew and lines hardened. Gaza’s starvation worsened, Washington D.C. was occupied, federal staff were purged for political conformity, tariffs escalated, and ICE dramatically increased raids and arrests, sparking protests and fears of internal fracture.
